El sábado 10 de Noviembre en medio del desarrollo de la Feria Internacional del Libro de Santiago (FILSA), fue presentado el libro “Historia social de la educación chilena. Tomo 4. Estado docente con crecientes niveles de responsabilidad en sus aulas. Chile 1920 a 1973. Agentes educativo”. La mencionada obra es parte de una colección que comenzó a publicarse el año 2015, a razón de un tomo por año, y que tiene como compilador a Benjamín Silva Torrealba.
La presentación conto con una audiencia de más de 80 personas, quienes tomaron contacto con los estudios comprendidos en el tomo que incorporó nueve estudios de diversos autores. Los comentadores de esta obra fueron la Coordinadora de Educación 2020 Alejandra Arratia y el periodista Iván Núñez, vinculado a Chilevisión y Radio ADN.
Alejandra Arratia comenzó sus comentarios analizando la Introducción del libro, donde Benjamín Silva realizó una presentación sobre el nuevo período estudiado por este tomo “Estado docente con crecientes niveles de responsabilidad en sus aulas Chile 1920 a 1973” , período que se espera profundizar en los tomos 5, 6 y 7. Rescató como idea central la división que el compilador realizó entre 1920, un período dominado por debates más pedagógicos educativos, y 1958 a 1973 donde la ingeniería social puso el acento sobre los cambios estructurales al sistema educativo.
Luego de ello, presentó cuatro de los ochos estudios monográficos de este volumen. Así partió con el trabajo de la profesora María Victoria Peralta, el cual analizó el impacto de la Reforma de 1928 en la Educación de Párvulos. Sobre el mismo, visualizó la relevancia que desde comienzos del siglo XX se conformaron principios e ideas ejes de la educación inicial, que son de plena actualidad y vigencia para los debates actuales en dicho ámbito educativo. En segundo lugar, Arratia expresó su impresión sobre el trabajo de Juan Pablo Conejeros quien abordó la educación técnico profesional durante los gobiernos radicales, destacando la relevancia de dicho ámbito de la educación, vinculando ideas presentes en el estudio con los vigentes debates sobre el mencionado sector de la educación. En tercer lugar comentó el texto de Ramón Uzcategui, el cual se refiere a la influencia chilena en la constitución del estado docente venezolano. Sobre el mismo, hizo referencia como en algún momento de su historia, Chile fue el referente de como desarrollar políticas públicas en educación. Finalmente Arratia se refierió al texto de Amanda Barría, quien trabajo el rol de la la Escuela Normal de Chiloé durante el gobierno de la Unidad Popular. Dándole gran valor a los trabajos previos, Arratia calificó a este texto como “el más hermoso del libro”, debido a que evidenció el rol trascendental que tuvieron –y ella postuló que tienen- los profesores en desarrollar “una verdadera y real educación transformadora”, como “hicieron los normalistas analizados por Amanda Barría en Chiloé”.
En segundo lugar, tomó la palabra el destacado periodista Iván Núñez, quien comentó el texto de Pedro Canales que analióo la relación entre el estado chileno y el pueblo mapuche por medio de la educación. Para ello Núñez presentó un video sobre una entrevista de este año que él realizó a Héctor Llaitul, líder de la CAM, relacionado como siguen vigentes los discursos contemporáneos con las demandas del pueblo mapuche analizadas en el texto de Canales entre 1930-1960, demandas que aún no tienen una respuesta desde el estado chileno. En segundo lugar se refirió al trabajo de José Antonio González, el cual analizó el sistema educativo y la conformación de la Universidad en Antofagasta. Rescató el valor de estudiar lo local, demostrando como Santiago no ha tomado o incorporado debates desde y sobre las regiones. En un tercer momento se refirió al texto de Diego Mundaca sobre las Escuelas de Verano en la Universidad de Concepción, señalando la relevancia cultural que tuvieron dichas instancias en el seno de una sociedad regional que le dio fuerza y dinámica a sus demandas educativas. Finalmente Núñez analizó el trabajo de Patricio Quiroga sobre las ideas y propuestas educativas de Salvador Allende. Destacó que independiente de las reflexiones sobre su gobierno y acción política, sus propuestas educativas reflejaron una mirada presidencial sobre el sistema educativo que siguen vigentes, y para ello hizo escuchar un discurso de la Presidenta Michelle Bachelet quien incorporó en su plan de gobiern ideas ya analizadas por Allende.
Por últimó, un tercer momento de esta presentación fue protagonizado por el compilador de libro y de esta colección Benjamín Silva quien agradeció a Ediciones UTEM y al Vicerrector Mario Torres por su apoyo, a autores y autoras y familiares en general. Culminando la presentación segundo con un homenaje al gran maestro e insigne educador Iván Núñez Prieto, Premio Nacional de Educación 2015. Este último, con una humildad y generosidad que caracteriza a los grandes educadores, ha sido el principal apoyo académico y personal de esta colección, siendo protagonista y destacado historiador de los años 1920 a 1973. Se le dio una copia del libro, y los y las asistentes le dieron un amplio y merecido aplauso por su trabajo, «al verdadero Paulo Freire Chileno».
