El Jueves 28 de Septiembre en el Salón de Honor de la Universidad Tecnológica Metropolitana (UTEM) se presentó el Tomo 8 de la Colección Historia Social de la Educación Chilena «Los años del neoliberalismo: instalación, auge ¿y crisis? 1973 hasta el presente. Agentes Educativos».
Esta obra es compilada por el Coordinador del Centro de Educacion y Cultura Americana (CECA) y académico del Departamento de Trabajo Social UTEM, Benjamín Silva Torrealba.
La saga aborda el rol que ha tenido el Estado chileno en el área de la docencia, analizando los diferentes niveles de responsabilidad en las aulas y espacios educativos entre los años 1920 a 1973.
“Quisiera agradecer a todas las instancias que han permitido que esta valiosa colección exista -en primer lugar- a la UTEM, por la convicción y el apoyo que siempre tuvo hacia este trabajo que nace como una iniciativa de un libro en 2014, y hoy ya representa una colección de ocho tomos. Para mí, como académico de esta casa de estudios es un orgullo poder presentar este libro en el salón de honor de nuestra universidad, y con la presencia de las autoridades de nuestra institución, además de grandes profesionales del área”, cuenta Benjamín Silva Torrealba, compilador de esta obra.
El libro fue publicado por Ediciones UTEM y presentado recientemente en la Casa Central de dicha universidad, instancia organizada por la Facultad de Humanidades y Tecnologías de la Comunicación Social junto con Ediciones Universidad Tecnológica Metropolitana, con el apoyo de la vicerrectoría de Transferencia Tecnológica y Extensión. La actividad contó con la presencia de la decana de Facultad de Humanidades y Tecnologías de la Comunicación Social, Julia Cerda Carvajal, del director de Departamento de Trabajo Social, Oscar Vega Gutiérrez, y de la directora de la Escuela de Trabajo Social, Paula Leal Tejeda.
